About us

What  is Department of Supply Chain Management ?

For the industries in the age of Industry 4.0, the issue of talent shortage is quite prevalent in the field of supply chain management. Many companies have made progress in tackling this problem, but there is still a long way to go. The supply chain sector is facing a talent shortage that is quickly escalating into a potential crisis. The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics report that the jobs in logistics are estimated to grow by 26 % between 2010 and 2020, while one global study estimates that the demand for supply chain professionals exceeds supply by a ratio of 6 to 1. This shows that supply chain management will be very important in the future.

Education Goal Setting

To adapt to the current situation of emerging supply chain competence and Industry 4.0, our department has established two major educational goals. The first goal is to educate students on the integration of business flow, information flow, money flow, and goods flow to increase/enhance logistics competence advantages in Taiwan industries. Second, to develop seafood supply chain, green logistics, and emergency logistics that will benefit Taiwanese traditional industries in supply chain development and management.

The Focuses and Job Markets
