  • 1. Minimum credits required to graduate: 36 credits.
  • 2. Required courses: 12 credits; elective courses: 24 credits.
  • 3. Credits earned by students from the common courses offered by their respective colleges shall be accepted as their affiliated department's professional courses. However, credits earned from interdisciplinary courses offered either by their college or by other colleges will be accepted as credits earned from departments outside their own.
  • 4. Departmental requirements (programs, certifications, licenses, recognition of external department credits and other requirements):
    • (1) Within the 24 required elective credits, the maximum recognized number of credits from courses offered by other departments is 6 credits for local students and 9 credits for international students.
    • (2) The "Regulations for English Proficiency Standards Verification" must be passed before thesis defense can take place.
    • (3) Students must complete their thesis, pass the oral examination, and obtain the thesis credits.
    • (4) Students must complete one "EMI (English as a Medium of Instruction) course" before graduation.
    • (5) The thesis is taken in one semester, and the grade is recorded in the form of a degree examination.
    • (6) International students taking EMI courses (including online courses) not offered by the department may, with departmental faculty meeting approval, have these credits recognized as graduation credits without being subject to the upper limit on credits recognized from other departments.
